Meet Dr. M.Scott Smith
Dr. Smith was born in Lexington, Kentucky, and moved to Frankfort at the age of six. He spent his formative years in Frankfort and was inspired to be a dentist from an early age. Since he enjoyed meeting new people and working with his hands, dentistry seemed like the perfect career for him.
After high school graduation, he followed his passion and attended the University of Kentucky to complete his Bachelor of Science Degree. Then, he attended Louisville to attain his DMD in 1990. However, he wasn’t content with just achieving his DMD – he had a deep desire to continue learning and growing.
Dr. Smith continued to study and master his craft and completed over 200 hours of continuing education in orthodontics. He was also intrigued by dental lasers and completed category II laser certification in 1992. He was one of the first five dentists in Kentucky to use dental lasers.
He is a member of the American Dental Association, the Bluegrass Dental Association and has been practicing general and laser dentistry for over 22 years.
Dr. Smith has great precision and care and loves working with crowns and bridges to make them so life-like ‘no one can tell the difference.’ His patients return to his office year after year because they trust his highly-honed artistic skills and enjoy the wonderful chair side manner of his friendly and knowledgeable staff.
When Dr. Smith isn’t practicing dentistry, you’ll find him spending time with his family, watching sci-fi movies with his father, seeing his daughter play college golf and enjoying the great outdoors.
Dr. Smith has one hobby that keeps his mind and hands finely tuned – building large-scale radio-controlled airplanes. In fact, this is one of his great passions. If he can build these amazing planes, just think what he can do for your smile!
